Devlog #003 ( Battling & The Scout Fairy Bramble⚔️)
Hello! It's Holographicquad (the dynamic game development Duo).
We are currently working on a Fairy game called Sprite's Honor and....
It's time for the 3rd Devlog!
'Battling & Bramble⚔️'

Because Bramble, the scout sprite, is injured and walks instead of flying for some of the gameplay, he needed two sets of animations. I had created only his walk and but not his flying, so I finished those first. After his 4-direction movement, he needed several more "action" animations, most importantly his attack.
Next, I moved onto the actual battle scene. The gnome king got a facelift, making his outfit slightly fancier and making him larger than regular gnomes.
The last thing I tackled was UI for getting to battle. The UI in place was flawed so we reevaluated what was needed, then I fiddled with elements and organization until I was satisfied with it.
As always, I'm excited to see everything implemented in-game!

Programming 👩💻
Hey! Here's my recap on programming the battling aspects.
First I went back and touched up the battle levels. I went through all five levels added in the different level art and added the King gnome new art in. I also fixed some leftover bugs and changed the way the battle scene loads in.
Once that was done, it was time to make battles happen back on your camping site.
First I created gnomes that will come into your campsite and try to pillage.
Next, I coded Bramble. I made him able to attack and made his stamina bar deplete when gnomes land their attacks.
This took a while to get working as there were many parts to code - the seedlings, Bramble, and the gnomes. But once I got it all working I was pretty proud of the outcome :D .
